An Intensive Outpatient Program provides structured, multi-hour treatment several days per week while you continue living at home. Care is organized around individual therapy, skills-based groups, and regular psychiatric support to help you reduce symptoms and build stability. Our clinicians use CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed approaches, and can incorporate EMDR when appropriate. Family or couples sessions may be included to strengthen your support system. You gain consistent care that is more intensive than weekly therapy but more flexible than a hospital setting.
Participation looks purposeful and predictable, with sessions scheduled during daytime or early evening hours. You will check in with your therapist, join small skills groups, and complete practice between sessions to reinforce progress. Groups focus on CBT thought restructuring, DBT emotion regulation and distress tolerance, and mindfulness. Your psychiatric provider reviews medications, monitors safety, and adjusts treatment as needed. Many patients step down from PHP or inpatient care, or step up when weekly therapy is not enough.
Care remains collaborative and goal-directed so you can return to work, school, and family roles with more confidence. We can include a supportive family or couples session to align communication and coping plans. Teletherapy and hybrid options extend access when commuting is difficult, while preserving the intensity of care. Attendance expectations are clear, and our team helps with scheduling and workplace or school documentation. To discuss candidacy and next steps for IOP Tustin, contact us at 949-625-0564.
What to Expect Each Week
Our program treats depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, trauma and PTSD, and personality-related emotional dysregulation. Patients with eating disorders may participate at an outpatient level with medical oversight as needed.
Treatment plans use evidence-based therapies like CBT, DBT, EMDR for trauma, and coordinated psychiatric care. Our clinicians may recommend TMS, Spravato, or ketamine-assisted therapy when indicated by your symptoms and history.
